Tell all your friends! But seriously. The Weeknd has graced us with the Kanye-produced track ‘Tell Your Friends’ that we heard snippets of last week. Not only is the full audio out but also visuals! Really enjoying this Kanye-Weeknd friendship. They are both such creative individuals – I love seeing them work together.
The release of this video is all leading up to Abel’s album Beauty Behind the Madness dropping this Friday!
About an hour ago, The Weeknd dropped on his Facebook page a link to his Soundcloud of what appears to be snippets from his oh-so-soon album Beauty Behind the Madness.
I typically don’t like listening to new music until the release date, but I couldn’t wait any longer. His voice is truly like no other. Abel is back, and he doesn’t disappoint. Although, I must admit I will always be a bigger fan of his older music compared to the more mainstream, radio hits, but regardless. Still so good.
Enjoy yinz! And have a wonderful weeknd!
And happy happy birthday to my best friend, Natalie – hope it’s epic, boo!
And we can absolutely not forget about The Weeknd’s announcement today about his upcoming ‘The Madness Fall Tour.’ I am one million percent going to this. Travi$ Scott, Banks, and Halsey will also be joining him. He’ll be in LA on Tuesday, December 8 at The Forum in Inglewood. It’s crazy to think that back in 2012 he was performing at much smaller venues, and now The Forum! While it’s not nearly as big as Staples Center, it is definitely a bump up, and I think it’s epic he’s only getting bigger.
And what’s even more exciting is his next album Beauty Behind The Madness drops next Friday, August 28, so he will clearly be performing a majority of his new (and hopefully older) songs. He went on a fall tour last year after the release of Kiss Land. Obviously I attended.
The tour kicks off in his hometown of Toronto on November 3 and will make a total of 22 stops. Pretty sure the presale for tickets is next Wednesday – on it! Check the dates below to see if he’s making a stop in your city! If he isn’t, you should just fly to LA and see him with me. 🙂

With only one feature from Lana Del Rey, the 14 tracks feature ‘The Hills,’ ‘Often,’ and ‘Can’t Feel My Face.’ This album is set to have a more pop feel to it, compared to his 2013 album Kiss Land, which was eerie and dark.

It’s here! Abel is on fire in this vid… literally. Thanks to Complex Music, click below to watch the visuals via Apple Music. Can’t wait til Beauty Behind the Madness, dropping August 28.
This is great! Last night on Jimmy Fallon during their lip sync bit, Tom Cruise did an excellent job pretending to be The Weeknd and lip syncing his current top hit ‘Can’t Feel My Face.’ Enjoy!
And speaking of that song, the visuals for it are scheduled to drop today via Apple Music – I’ll try and find a working link for yinz when it does! Stay tuned…
While yes, these online fights are quite ridiculous, especially when it’s between two grown men, I find them fascinating. I was literally watching Meek Mill Tweet live calling out Drake and the same with Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift. Now that is reality TV.
The first Twitter feud of the week was between Nicki Minaj and my favorite (jokes) Taylor Swift. The feud started when music video nominations were announced for the MTV Video Music Awards and Nicki wasn’t nominated for anything. She began ranting on the social media platform but never directed a Tweet toward anyone in particular. Cut to Taylor Swift. Catching wind of Nicki’s Tweets, Taylor responded. More confusion took place. Well, we can all sleep now because Taylor issued an apology of misunderstanding to Nicki via Twitter.
Nicki thanked Taylor and shared her appreciation. All is right in the Twitterspehere.
False.
Nicki’s beau Meek Mill decided to take shots at my boy Drake. You know I got defensive about this. He called out Drake for not writing his own raps. I chuckled at this.
And today we received confirmation from Drake’s supposed “ghostwriter” Quentin Miller saying that he is not and never will be a ghostwriter for Drake. The two have definitely collaborated but Q said he would never take credit for anything other than that. Drake’s producer, Noah Shebib, known as 40, also took to Twitter to defend the rapper. Drake stayed silent on the platform.
Do I think he has a ghostwriter? No. And I’m not just saying that because I have a healthy obsession with him. Someone who raps and sings with such emotion and passion can’t do that through someone else’s words. Yes, I believe he has probably had help or inspiration from others, as most artists do, but that’s part of the creativity and creation process. At the end of the day, Drake will continue making music the people love, and I will continue figuring out ways of how I can meet him.
THE WEEKND DEBUTS NEW SONG
Earlier this week the Toronto native teased a brand new song during a performance on a private island near London. Like most Weeknd songs, it was a melodic and moody cut.
His sophomore LP, Beauty Behind the Madness, drops on August 28, and I cannot freakin’ wait.
Listen to the untitled track below.
J.COLE ON REMIX TO JANET JACKSON’S ‘NO SLEEEP’
A few weeks ago Janet Jackson made a musical comeback with her song ‘No Sleeep.’ And no I’m not spelling ‘sleep’ wrong. The song’s title uses three e’s. I love the addition of having Cole on the remix – his voice contributes to the cool vibe of the song in a chill way. While this seems like a random pairing of artists to collaborate on a track, they clearly support each other. Janet was seen at J.Cole’s LA show on Sunday, July 19 at Staples Center. Love it! The visuals for the song are out too.
Watch and enjoy below!
Oh, and happy birthday to the girl, J. Lo! I mean… she’s a smoke show at 46!
Happy National Tequila Day – have a great weekend, yinz. Hopefully my next post will be about the release of Frank Ocean’s new album…
It is about dang time! We officially have a release date for The Weeknd’s sophomore LP…
Friday, August 28!
Details were revealed when the album went for pre-order internationally on iTunes before being taken down. I was able to grab a screen shot for ya though 🙂 Pretty vague, but it’s official!
Beauty Behind the Madness will include 14 tracks, featuring already hit songs ‘Often,’ ‘The Hills,’ and ‘Can’t Feel My Face.’
He also took to Twitter to confirm that the album will be available for pre-order soon. The album marks the follow up to Kiss Land which debuted at No. 2 and was released in 2013. This is one album I am TRULY excited to listen to this year! I’m hoping there’s another Drake collab.
What a great Monday! Today in San Francisco, Apple unveiled its new music streaming service at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a little help from an idol of mine…
…Drake! He will be using Apple Music to promote his own new album, so you better believe I will be supporting this new streaming service. And in the above picture, he is high-fiving (real word?) Eddy Cue, head of software and Internet services, after discussing the Connect feature of Apple Music. To learn more about the service, check out this New York Times article here. I haven’t done enough research to compare all of the streaming services out there, so I will write another post on that once the proper research is done! But I have a feeling this might be the cake taker. Or it could be just because Drake’s involved, but whatevs. From the few articles I’ve read thus far, Apple Music looks like it could have some real potential and truly engage fans, while still benefiting the artist (and not at $20/month for the fan). #praise
If that wasn’t exciting enough for me, The Weeknd also came out to world premiere his newest single ‘Can’t Feel My Face.’ Produced by Max Martin, who has also worked with Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift, Abel swoons over a love so strong that he can’t feel his face, metaphorically speaking of course.
I’m totally blowing it with embedding the actual song into this post, so you will just have to click here to listen. Sorry for the extra step, yinz, but I’m no coder and just want you to listen asap!
And at Drake’s most recent performance at the Governors Ball in NYC on Friday, he made mention during ‘Crew Love’ that an OVO + XO collab could be making a comeback. Maybe it will drop on Apple Music! Stay tuned, yinz…oh, and this post is my first post written in Pittsburgh 🙂
Better late posting than never! Having dropped yesterday, The Weeknd released not only a new song but (dark) visuals, as well, for his track titled ‘The Hills.’ Really really digging it. And no, Lauren Conrad and Lo aren’t featured in the video 🙂 Watch and listen below – enjoy!
