So Rihanna could be gifting us all tomorrow (CHRISTMAS EVE) with her 8th studio album, ANTI. I caught wind of this news thanks to Complex. The news was announced on the Australian The Today Show. Rihanna has been teasing us fans with her ‘AnTi Diary’ website run via Samsung, putting out short video clips of herself in different scenarios and somewhat dark settings. Typical, Rihanna.
The Today Show Australian Twitter account has since deleted the Tweet, but again thanks to Complex, they snagged a screenshot, which I’ve gotten for you below.
Again, I really hope this is real because 1. I would like stupid blogging about this and then nothing happen but more importantly 2. I really want her new album to come out.
Stay tuned for more details about this! Or tonight at midnight, perhaps, the album could drop.
The annual Kardashian Kristmas kard is here, and it’s filled with the kiddos of the klan!
Okay, I’ll stop with the ‘k’ thing.
But really, the card is here, and it’s probably the most adorable and least self-centered card they have put out to date. From left to right the card features North West, Penelope, Mason, and Reign Disick (Scott and Kourtney’s kids), who Mason is holding. The only little one missing is Saint West. And I’m loving the all-black attire. I approve!
Hey-ooo! Happy week of Christmas! Can’t believe it’s on Friday. I’m back in Pittsburgh for the holidays. 🙂
Below are some new album selections of mine you should definitely listen to.
CHRIS BROWN – Royalty
I have truly been waiting for this album for a long time. Bummed I missed out on Chris Brown’s show at the Hollywood Palladium on Friday night, but from the Instagram videos I saw, it looked bangin’, and the tracks he performed from Royalty, no doubt, make this one of his better pieces of work. I truly believe C. Breezy did a 180 with this album and what, or should I say who is most important in his life. That important person being his daughter Royalty, who the album is named after.
PUSHA T – Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude
The new G.O.O.D. Music president gives us a ten-track album that is packed with features and solid rhymes. I had the chance of listening to parts of the album thanks to Power 106 and their always exclusive world premieres and first listens. This album serves as the prelude to King Push’s third album, King Push, which is scheduled to drop in April of next year.
I realize I’ve been MIA for about the last week, but that’s because I’ve been doing hoodrat things with my friends. JK. Sort of. I have been out and about, so now I have lots to share with you!
Let me show you through pictures and videos… and some words. 🙂
FRIDAY | 12.4
Ventured to 2nd Street in Long Beach with Chad. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – I thank Chad for making sure I’m never hungover. We ended the night with In-n-Out.
SATURDAY | 12.5 | Happy Birthday, Chad!
Lots of things to celebrate on Saturday, December 5!
Chad’s 27th birthday
the birth of KimYe’s second child, Saint West. Not the best name choice, obviously, but it’s not Jesus West, so I’m cool with Saint
the grand opening of Drake’s Los Angeles flagship store for his OVO brand. I still haven’t gone yet, but believe me you’ll know on all social media channels when I do make the trip
Before celebrating Chad’s birthday, I went to the Kings and Pens game at STAPLES Center with none other than Uncle Freddie. While the Pens lost, 4-3, it was a really good game! Thanks for the tickets, Susie. 🙂
.
I rushed home after the game to get ready to head back down to Long Beach. For Chad’s birthday, we went to this delicious Mexican restaurant called Lola’s. After dinner, we went on a Duffy boat ride in Long Beach and cruised around the marina and canals of Naples. It’s so beautiful during the Christmas season!
SUNDAY | 12.6
Chad and I spent the day in Santa Monica. I don’t have any pictures from that, but just know it was filled with Christmas spirit and holiday [window] shopping. We ended the night with Thai food and being sloths on the couch.
MONDAY | 12.7
No work for me! On Monday our administration team took the day off to go on a retreat. We went to lunch and then enjoyed an hour-long boat cruise around the Long Beach marina.
And Monday night, two of my roommates, Megan and Rachel, and I went out in downtown LA! I rarely venture there since it’s outside of the South Bay ‘bubble.’ But I’m definitely glad I did! YOLO.
TUESDAY | 12.8
The best night ever! Parker, Sydney, and I went to see The Weeknd at his Beauty Behind the Madness tour. So so good. Seriously, that man* is so talented. He sounds the same if not better as he does on the radio. Honest even. Watch the quick video I compiled from Snapchat below. 🙂
*The Weeknd is one person. Not a band. Not a group. A ‘he.’ Not ‘they.’
Alright, off to more fun things! Time to get my food and drank on with Mackle Meg in Los Al and then up to Santa Monica – living that YOLO life. Megan just text me that, so I found it very appropriate to include in today’s post.
Good news, people! And especially to you Drake fans. Drake’s OVO brand is getting a FLAGSHIP clothing store in none other than Los FREAKING Angeles!
And when does it open? This Saturday, December 5! Where you ask? 130 N La Brea Avenue, LA 90036. It’s probably a blessing that Chad’s birthday also happens to be on Saturday and that I’m going to the Pens-Kings game or else you know I’d be lining up bright and early.
And if you can’t ever make it to the store, you can still buy all OVO merch here.
Watch the videos Drake just recently tweeted below!
Yes! I always look forward to DJ Earworm’s mashup of all the top songs of each year – he calls it ‘The United State of Pop.’ And his 2015 mix is finally here.
This year is a bit different though. Normally he takes the top 25 songs, but this year he upped it to 50 and changed the name to ’50 Shades of Pop.’ With a diverse range of tunes and sounds that became top hits this year, you can expect to hear an eclectic mashup. He even squeezed in Adele, since her music came out fairly late but obviously blew up the charts.
Today is #GivingTuesday! For those of you who are unfamiliar with the holiday, trust me, I didn’t know what it was until I started working at a nonprofit, it’s a day to simply give back! Coming off of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this is our chance to direct our monies or anything really (a smile, kindness, your talents, a hug – see Drake), towards the universe. 🙂 Cheesy, I know, but I really think a day like this is necessary.
What I love about #GivingTuesday is the positive effect it has on social media. So much of our timelines and newsfeeds are filled with negative issues and people getting offended that it is nice for one day to be dedicated to acts of kindness. Here is a good read, thanks to MSNBC, about #GivingTuesday ‘sweeping social media.’
Speaking of giving, I’d like to shout out Spotify for conducting their year-end streaming results and giving me some great news. My boy Drake is Spotify’s most streamed artist of the year! The Weeknd and Kanye West weren’t far behind – wahoo! According to the streaming service, Drake racked up 1.8 BILLION streams this year thanks to ‘Hotline Bling,’ What a Time to be Alive, and If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. Tis the season of giving, and I cannot wait to see what he’s going to give us on Views from the 6.
I’m keeping this post short and sweet but would love to know what you give or why you give. We need to see and read more of that in real life and on social media!
Queen B is indeed featured on this track, which will be on Coldplay’s upcoming (and maybe final) album, A Head of Full Dreams, to be released on Friday.
The original lyrics of the song actually were ‘drinks on me, drinks on me,’ but they decided they couldn’t get away with that phrase. So instead, they enlisted Mrs. Carter to switch it up a bit by saying ‘drink from me, drink from me,’ along with other heavenly sayings.
