Album:  Fetty Wap – ‘Fetty Wap’

Don’t say I never gave you anything!  While the offical drop date isn’t until Friday, you can listen to Fetty Wap’s debut self-titled album Fetty Wap now.

The stream is available thanks to NPR.  Many of the tracks may be familiar to you, but he’s still making a big statement with this one.  And, there are no big name features on it.

So, stream it here for 24 hours, and then be sure to support Fetty by purchasing the album on iTunes this Friday.

Yaaaaa baby.

Weekly Wrap-Up 9.18.15

It’s been a minute since I wrote a ‘Wrap-Up,’ but I’m back!  And this post isn’t actually a wrap-up but really just about my excitement for Chris Brown’s One Hell of a Nite Tour tonight!

CB will be stopping in Anaheim this evening at the Honda Center, and I’ll be going with my two frans Sydney and Jimmy – can’t wait!

From reviews of the tour I’ve read, Chris puts on a two-hour set (!!!), which to me is completely worth the money.  Also on this tour is Fetty Wap, French Montana, Omarion, Kid Ink, and Teyana Taylor.  Pretty pumped about it all!

So now I’ll leave you with a Chris Brown playlist.  It’s what I’ve been listening to all week – enjoy, and happy Friday!  And make sure you follow me on Instagram (@serge19) to see posts from the night and Snapchat (@ergense) for live updates!

Oh, and do know I’ll find a way to post about the Drake-Future mixtape should that drop tonight during the concert.

#FBGOVO

If Twitter rumors a week or two ago weren’t in our faces enough about the possibility of a joint Future-Drake mixtape, there’s even more to hopefully prove that this is really happening!

  1. The mysterious website (putitallinaplasticbag.com) that popped up today with a countdown of when the supposed mixtape will drop.  Pictured below. FBGOVO
  2. And actually in two days (Sept. 18) when the countdown will reach 0:0, Drake will be performing at the Music Midtown Festival in Atlanta, which also happens to be where Future is from.  Hmmm…
  3. Recent Instagram posts from TODAY from both Future and Drake.

4.  And just because I have a feeling this will happen.

5. UPDATE!  And Revolt TV shared this photo about an hour ago of what looks like a pretty legit tracklisting!  Holy smokes.

Now whether this is a joint mixtape or Future is playing a major role on Views from the 6, I really don’t care what comes out.  As long as it’s something, I’ll listen to it on repeat.

I’ll be sure to keep yinz updated on anymore #FBGOVO happenings!

Hat Trick

Major congratulations to The Weeknd (@theweeknd)!  He is the first solo male artist to top the Artist 100, Hot 100, and Billboard 200 in the same week.

Artist 100 | The Weeknd
Billboard Hot 100 | ‘Can’t Feel My Face’
Billboard 200 | Beauty Behind the Madness

I mean.  I’m not lying when I tell you guys he’s talented, and I cannot wait to see him live in December at The Forum!  It’s just so wonderful to me that this artist who never liked being in the spotlight, played his deep and dark music, is now holding records with artists like Taylor Swift (she’s the only other act with this same hat trick accomplishment) and who loves being in the public eye.

From billboard.com, here is a breakdown of what each accomplishment means:

“The Artist 100 measures artist activity across Billboard‘s most influential charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, Top Album Sales and the Social 50. The Artist 100 blends data measuring album and track sales, radio airplay, streaming and social media fan interaction to provide a weekly multi-dimensional ranking of artist popularity.”

And the ‘Hat Trick’ title of this post is quite fitting since he’s from Canada, the birthplace of hockey. 🙂  Speaking of, I cannot wait for hockey season!

Work, work, work, what you workin’ with?

I haven’t forgotten about californyinz, I promise!  I’ve just been extremely busy at work (writing this real quick during my lunch that’s consisting of Sour Patch Kids and Wheat Thins) with our big event coming up – tomorrow, actually!  I know that’s not a real excuse, but my brain is truly in a million places so to all of those I have yet to text back, email back, or just communicate with, I will be ‘charged up‘ next week!

I have many things to write about, as well.  And while it may be a little late to post the following topics, oh well, I still want to get my thoughts out there.

Topics include:

  • Miguel’s concert review
  • The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness album review
  • A few Drake mentions
  • I know there’s other things, but I cannot remember.  Typical.

So on that note, back to work.  I hope you are all having a wonderful Friday!  And Deb arrives in LA tomorrow to attend the Sunset Sip – pretty pumped about it!

VIDEO: Justin Bieber – ‘What Do You Mean?’

As he promised, Justin Bieber has just released the official video for his comeback single ‘What Do You Mean?’ at the end of the MTV Video Music Awards.

A snippet of the video was floating around the Internet and from the looks of that, the Biebs was getting a little heated in it.  So watch the video in full below, and hopefully it doesn’t have you asking ‘what do you mean?’ at the end.

Enjoy!

Welcome back, Westminster! 8.31.15

First day of classes.  And for some of you seniors, it’s the last first day of classes.  Well, unless you go to grad school.

Aside from all of the social events and Greek life functions I was involved with, the classes were just as memorable at Westminster College.  One of the main reasons I chose WC was because of the small class structure.  For those who know me, I love being in the know, want to be told if I’m doing something incorrectly and praised if I’m doing something correctly. The last attribute is something I should probably work on but that’s me so take it or leave it.  But truly the professors at WC did all of those things, which really helped shaped my work ethic and overall being as a student and now as a professional.

I started Westminster College as an education major with a Spanish minor.  That’s right.  I wanted to teach high school Spanish, but I quickly learned that I did not have the patience (and still would not) to teach the youth.  Especially teenagers.  I know if there was any attitude or smart-mouthing going on, I would give it right back and then probably get fired.  So I switched to a public relations major but still kept the Spanish minor.  Now I see there’s a social media minor – quite jealous of that!

I’m so envious of those who get to start classes at Westminster today.  I’m envious of the freshman for beginning what is to be the best four years of your life, of the sophomores and juniors because you are really getting into your major/minor and making wonderful connections with classmates and professors, and super envious of you seniors.  It was such a bittersweet time starting that final year, knowing it was coming to a close but also sort of being able to do whatever the heck you wanted since you were on top of the WC food chain.

So many of the things I learned in my classes at Westminster College have been applicable in the real world and especially in my current job.  From the freshman year writing and public speaking courses to the required gym classes (I took WC’s version of water polo – #SPORTS), to the cluster courses, and your required major classes, I am grateful for the professors I had, the connections I made, and the real-life experiences and coursework Westminster  offered.  Please don’t take any of it for granted!

And what’s really great is seeing all of my fellow Titans on social media all across the country with epic jobs and knowing that what helped us get these jobs is the education we received at Westminster College.  I know the running joke will always be “$40,000 a year blah blah,” and while I’m in debt up to my eyeballs, I wouldn’t trade my education at WC for anything!

So as I sit here writing this, listening to Kanye’s Late Registration and thinking back to my first day of class in 2007 (crazy!), I wish all current Westminster Titans best of luck on your first day of classes and hope all of you have a wonderful school year!  Remember – that’s why you’re really there. 🙂

Thank Goodness for The Weeknd!

Friday, August 28 is finally here – The Weeknd’s release date for Beauty Behind The Madness (BBTM).  You can purchase it (I will be to support) or listen to it on Spotify!  Seriously, thank God for that app.  It’s the best $9.99 I spend each month.

Beauty Behind The Madness here!

And I also just found a Weeknd Essentials playlist.  Holy smokes.  If you are a fan of Abel Tesfaye, you should ‘follow’ this playlist.  It’s a compilation of his old and newer songs, including tracks from BBTM.

Happy Friday, yinz!
