If You Feelin’ Like a Capricorn…

Can we please talk about how many epic Capricorns there are? I feel like within the past few weeks when a celebrity’s birthday has appeared on my Twitter timeline, I’ve been blown away by how dope they are. They clearly have always been a Cap, but I feel this year it’s more in my face.

Let’s take a look. Oh, and I may be biased because I, too, am a Capricorn. The very last day.

December 22 – January 19

What are the characteristics of a Capricorn, you ask?

Capricorn, the tenth sign of the zodiac, is all about hard work. Those born under this sign are more than happy to put in a full day at the office, realizing that it will likely take a lot of those days to get to the top. That’s no problem, since Capricorns are both ambitious and determined: they will get there. The Capricorn-born are extremely dedicated to their goals, almost to the point of stubbornness. Those victories sure smell sweet, though, and that thought alone will keep Capricorns going.*

And don’t try to tell me with the new shift in the moon or whatever the heck happened that a new sign was added and I’m now a Sagittarius. Nope. Definitely a Capricorn – a natural goal setter who needs structure. And clearly stubborn.

A friend, who is also a Capricorn, brought to my attention that we end the year and kick off the new one! Never thought about it like that. Pretty kewl.

Music producer, rapper, songwriter, sometimes singer (cue Auto-Tune; hey, it makes those non-singing rappers’ songs more melodic).

If you couldn’t tell, I’m a huge Ye fan. And since today is his birthday, he definitely deserves a californyinz birthday post. I’m going to highlight what Ye means to me and why we could all benefit from being even just a tad bit like him in our day-to-day.

PERFECTIONIST | I mean the man was making changes to TLOP since the day it dropped in February. Kanye wants the sound to be perfect and delivered with the best quality. He is hands-on with his fashion line because he wants it to be perfect through his eyes. So yes, be more of a perfectionist like Kanye. Who likes something half-assed anyway?

RISK TAKER | Kanye took a major risk on 808s & Heartbreak by not only introducing the sound of Auto-Tune (with the help of T-Pain) and the use of 808 drums, but by also being at his most vulnerable. This paved the way for other artists to take on the same approach but in their own creative ways. So be like Kanye and take those risks. You never know the outcome for you personally and who else you may motivate and inspire!

EXECUTES HIS VISIONS | We all know Kanye is a man of many ideas. Well props to him for turning most of if not all those visions into realities. Major key to success. So if you’re questioning whether you should bring your own ideas to fruition or not, think of Kanye and BE GREAT. Don’t skip out on missed opportunities.

PASSIONATE | Music, fashion, family, friends, the fans. The passion Kanye emits for all of that and probably more is one of the reasons I like him so much. For me, his passion is contagious. Much appreciated. I think if more people found and expressed their passions in the same way as Ye, the world would be a more productive place.

Aside from his passion, what I appreciate most about Kanye is that he doesn’t care what anyone thinks. Yes, you should care a tad about what people think (you don’t want to be rude) but at the end of the day you have to look out for yourself and do the damn thang.

Now, I will leave yinz all with this FULL video of Kanye performing his 808s & Heartbreak at the Hollywood Bowl. This was truly one of the coolest concerts I’ve ever attended. Not only getting to see one of my favorite artists perform, but this 808s album happens to be one of my favorite projects from Ye and probably in general. TLOP isn’t far behind :). But anyway, please watch if you have some downtime. Well worth it.

Justin Bieber Touched My Biehind

What started as a casual glass of wine for #NationalDrinkWineDay in Santa Monica turned into a nightclub adventure in West Hollywood – Hyde Sunset to be exact.

Rolled out with a new friend of mine who let’s just say has some connects. We get to Hyde a little after midnight. I’m introduced to two dudes outside the club and a little away from the entrance of the venue.

I for a brief second thought I heard the voice of Justin Bieber, but thought nahhhh, can’t be. It just all happened so fast, and the next thing I knew I looked up and what do you know the freaking Biebs was walking in my direction. And he looked a little lit, might I add.

We proceeded to walk to the entrance of Hyde, and Justin was walking in RIGHT behind me. It was a little bit of a tight squeeze to get in and then I FELT Justin Bieber’s hand on my butt guiding me into the clurb. Definitely fangirled to myself for a minute. We (minus Bieber) made our way to the DJ booth where we posted up for the rest of the night. Some bangers for sure. Even new Kanye. Lit.

I’m minding my own business, dancing to some beats and what do you know Justin Bieber is literally right next to me trying to get through to the DJ. Cue celebushock. I’m actually pretty proud of myself. I kept my cool and didn’t lose any of my motor skills. He chats with the DJ, makes his way back to the crowd, and I managed to snag a very short video clip before I once again got backhanded by his security guard. I say ‘again’ because Travi$ Scott did the same thing to me at Wiz’s listening party a few Mondays ago. YOLO.

See below for my full Snapchat Story. Well there’s not much to see, but listen to the music being played with a cameo from Bieber. And it does go into my morning leading up to present. So yes, I’d say my Thursday night was pretty good. A late night, got into my bed at 3:30am, but a good night for sure.

From left to right the card features North West, Penelope, Mason, and Reign Disick (Scott and Kourtney’s kids), who Mason is holding. The only little one missing is Saint West. And I’m loving the all-black attire. I approve!

I can only imagine how many eye rolls I’m getting right now. This post is dedicated to Ms. Kim Kardashian West’s birthday! It also happens to be my roommate Rachel’s birthday – happy birthday, Rach!

I can’t tell you how many times people question my fascination for her or the whole Kardashian/Jenner clan, but that’s the thing. I’m fascinated by them and especially Kim. Someone who can monetize just about anything they put their name and/or face on and with one of the biggest social media fanbases EVER, major props to you. Kim Kardashian or not, that’s quite a feat. Wouldn’t you want to get rich by putting your name on stuff that people want to buy? I would. Duh.

I’ll save my ‘Why I’ll Never Be Able to Keep Up With the Kardashians but Love Them Anyway’ post for another day. This post is to celebrate Kim!

During a recent Q&A on her website, she was asked what she wanted for her 35th birthday. Her birthday wishes include: “Expanding the family, having a son, and getting skinny!” Again, I’m probably getting a decent amount of eye rolls about the ‘getting skinny’ comment, but come on. At least she didn’t ask for anything materialistic! Can she liiiiive, people? 🙂

I thought it’d be best to celebrate her by showing you some of my favorite outfits she’s worn over the past few years – primarily in 2015 since I really like her updated style since being married to Kanye, as well as pictures with North West.

Take away the fame, and she’s a daughter, sister, aunt, wife, and mom who is loving and living life.
